I picked up a Carrera Go slot car set at the thrift store because I heart F1. I think I’ve just fallen into the deep end of a new hobby/money pit. Also now I need a bigger house. Tell me about slot cars!

Personally, the braids always irritated me. That’s why I junked mine after years of frustration. But, maybe you will have better luck.

I need a house so I can have an E34 M5, as of right now I have no place to park one. Yes, pretty much my sole reason for wanting a house is so I can have two BMW M cars in a garage.

Yeah, I have a house with 2 closets and no garage. I can’t decide if I want to build a detached garage, try to attach one with rooms above it, or move somewhere cheaper.

My BIL gave my boys a Carrara set this past Christmas. It’s a nice set. I bought a couple extra cars too so they wouldn’t bash the originals so badly. The only issue is setup and tear down. I bought my boys a couple starter sets of anki overdrive for when their little sister is born in a couple months. Toys r us had them at 50% off, so figured as good a time as any to buy. I’ve got the original anki drive set that we play with as well. I prefer the anki stuff with the boys, and I guess myself as well. More like a video game meets slot cars. But the Carrara set is nice and it’s fun to see how fast you can push the cars til they fly off the track.

I vaguely think we had a scalextric set when I was a kid so I’m hoping my mom finds it in the attic. I’ve just started googling about all this and I had no idea how intense some people are about it. Just looked like fun, since so far I’ve been awful at video games.
On those lines, I also got a Thrustmaster wheel and pedal set I need to figure a way to rig up too. Can I just retire already?

It always bugged my you can’t steer them... (I know, lame..) I used to sell the little HO ones working at a hobby store in college. Used to have quite a bit of hop up part available, not sure now...

Nonononononono shut your mouth right now. My $5 RC Porsche is just fine and it scares the pets plenty.
